Booz Allen launches Vellox Ranger AI cyber detection product

July 27, 2026 8:01 AM

Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) has made its Vellox Ranger threat detection product generally available, the company announced, expanding its Vellox suite of AI-powered cybersecurity products.

Vellox Ranger uses an agentic AI framework developed by Booz Allen to generate environment-specific threat detections. The product models a customer's infrastructure — including assets, network topology, vulnerabilities, and telemetry — then maps exposures to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and produces prioritized detection logic tailored to that environment.

The Vellox suite now includes five products at varying stages of availability. Vellox Reverser, which automates malware analysis and produces defensive recommendations, is also generally available. Vellox Navigator, a continuous compliance monitoring tool, and Vellox Reverser Triage, a high-volume malware triage extension, are listed as coming soon. Vellox Striker, which emulates AI-powered threats to assess security gaps, and Vellox LayerOne, a governance and compliance gateway for AI agents, are in limited preview.

"Vellox Ranger was built for that reality. It gives analysts back time they lose chasing false alarms and keeps defenses current as the environment changes," said Andrew Turner, executive vice president and head of Booz Allen's global commercial cyber business.

Mujtaba Hamid, executive vice president and leader of Booz Allen's product portfolio, said: "We didn't just study the AI-powered adversary — we built it to defeat it."

Booz Allen said the products are designed to integrate with existing technology stacks. The company plans to demonstrate the Vellox portfolio at the Black Hat conference August 4–6 in Las Vegas.
