QTREX partners with Northeastern University on quantum interconnects

QTREX Quantum Ltd. (Nasdaq: QTEX) announced a research collaboration with Northeastern University in Massachusetts focused on advanced micro-system structures for cryogenic quantum interconnects.

Under the agreement, Northeastern University will grant QTREX a first option to negotiate a commercial license to intellectual property developed solely by Northeastern or jointly by both parties during the research program.

The research is expected to cover micro-system structures and interconnect geometries for quantum connectivity architectures, including evaluation of conductive, dielectric, and superconducting materials under cryogenic conditions. The effort will be led by Prof. Benyamin Davaji of Northeastern's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, whose work includes NSF-funded superconducting nanowire detector research.

Northeastern University holds an R1 research activity designation, the highest level in the United States, and operates the Quantum Materials and Sensing Institute.

"Additive manufacturing of electronics and microsystems holds exciting potential to reshape how we approach electrical connectivity—offering a path toward three-dimensional, low-parasitic interconnects with micron-scale precision that could benefit both quantum sensing and quantum computing," said Prof. Davaji.

Dagi Ben-Noon, CEO of QTREX, said the program creates "a structured pathway to translate academic research and eligible project-generated IP into potential commercial technologies for next-generation quantum systems."

According to the company's statement, joint teams from both organizations have already begun defining research objectives and allocating responsibilities. QTREX is based in Ness Ziona, Israel, and focuses on additively manufactured electronics for quantum computing infrastructure.
