Precision BioSciences shifts CFO and creates COO role
Precision BioSciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTIL) announced changes to its senior leadership team, with two internal promotions taking effect August 1, 2026.
Alex Kelly, currently Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to a newly created Chief Operating Officer role, where he will oversee customer-facing functions. Naresh Tanna, currently Vice President of Investor Relations and Chief of Staff to the CEO, will move into the CFO position, taking responsibility for corporate finance, reporting, and investor relations.
Cindy Atwell remains Chief Development Officer, continuing to lead clinical development for the company's two clinical-stage programs: PBGENE-HBV, targeting chronic hepatitis B, and PBGENE-DMD, targeting Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The company said it has also hired two physician leaders under Atwell with experience in infectious diseases and muscular dystrophy.
Cassie Gorsuch, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer, will now oversee all research functions, including translational sciences and next-generation programs.
Chief Executive Officer Michael Amoroso said in a statement that the changes "reflect the strength and depth of the team we have built at Precision" and cited the ongoing ELIMINATE-B and FUNCTION-DMD clinical studies as key priorities for the leadership group.
