The City of Munich has selected CGI (NYSE: GIB) to support its digital government services, administrative efficiency, and technological sovereignty, according to a press release from the company.

CGI and the City of Munich have collaborated for 20 years on projects including an e-file system rollout for approximately 40,000 employees, a license management system, and smart city applications such as a digital twin.

Under the new contract, CGI will provide requirements management, digital transformation consulting, system development, and IT security services. Subject-matter work will be handled by experts based in Munich, while specialized teams at European nearshore locations, including Bulgaria, will support development, architecture, and IT security.

"CGI combines a strong understanding of public administration with extensive technological expertise to help deliver digital solutions that improve services for citizens and strengthen the city's digital capabilities over time."

CGI, founded in 1976, reported fiscal 2025 revenue of CA$15.91 billion and employs approximately 94,000 consultants and professionals globally.
