Align Technology (Nasdaq: ALGN) has introduced a set of new features across its Align Digital Platform aimed at expanding treatment planning capabilities and patient engagement tools for dental and orthodontic practices.

The updates include additions to the Align Oral Health Suite, which now integrates AI-powered X-ray analysis and a gumline visualization tool to help clinicians identify and communicate oral health conditions such as interproximal cavities and potential gum recession.

The company also updated its Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro, adding Arch controls and an Occlusogram feature to allow patients to view simulated treatment outcomes within a representation of their own face. A separate addition to ClinCheck software, called 3D Tissue Animation, enables clinicians to simulate potential changes to a patient's facial soft tissue by the end of Invisalign treatment.

On the restorative side, the iTero Design Suite has been updated with AI-powered crown and bridge design and a new AI Splint feature to support same-day restorative workflows. Invisalign Smile Architect software now includes a preferences template and a Dual Flex prescription option intended to streamline combined orthodontic-restorative treatment planning.

"These latest treatment planning and patient engagement innovations for Invisalign were developed to help our customers visualize treatment options and outcomes, engage with and treat their patients with confidence, and simplify clinical workflows while more fully connecting steps in the digital treatment journey," said Sreelakshmi Kolli, Align Technology's executive vice president and chief product and digital officer.

The announcements also reference previously disclosed products, including the Invisalign Specifix Attachment System, Invisalign integrated buttons, an updated Invisalign Palatal Expander System, and a custom trimline option for clear aligners. Availability of all products is subject to applicable regulatory approvals and may vary by market, according to the company.

According to a press release from Align Technology, the company serves approximately 299,500 doctor customers and states it has treated approximately 22.8 million patients with the Invisalign system over 29 years.
