RingCentral employees complete 2,500 AI projects in 30 days with OpenAI
RingCentral, Inc. (NYSE: RNG) reported results from an internal initiative called the AI-Native Challenge, in which employees across the company used OpenAI's ChatGPT Work and Codex tools to build complete software projects from scratch.
According to a press release, the program produced 2,500 completed projects in under 30 days. The challenge was open to all employees, not only engineering teams, and covered the full software delivery process, including planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and deployment.
The initiative was sponsored by the Office of the CEO. Participants ranged across technical and non-technical disciplines.
Kira Makagon, President and Chief Operating Officer at RingCentral, said: "Codex and ChatGPT Work made product development accessible to people with very different technical backgrounds, and dramatically reduced the time and friction required to deliver tangible outputs."
Denise Dresser, Chief Revenue Officer at OpenAI, said: "RingCentral shows what's possible when AI development is put in the hands of an entire organization."
RingCentral said the challenge is part of a broader internal strategy to use AI tools to accelerate development of customer-facing products, including its AI Receptionist, AI Virtual Assistant, and AI Conversation Expert offerings.
