Alpha Compute Corp. (Nasdaq: ALP) announced the launch of the Right2Compute Coalition, a national alliance opposing restrictions on AI data center construction, according to a company press release. The coalition was announced at CPAC London by Alpha Compute CEO Brittany Kaiser, alongside representatives from OpenAI and Bitmain.

The coalition's formation follows New York State's establishment of what the press release describes as the nation's first statewide moratorium on new hyperscale data centers, enacted July 14, 2026. The moratorium pauses state environmental permits for facilities of 50 megawatts or more for up to one year. Arizona and Maine have enacted similar restrictions on data center development.

The coalition's stated policy agenda includes accelerated permitting for data centers and transmission infrastructure, expanded energy generation, and federal and state legislation establishing legal protections for computational resources. The group also advocates for processing sensitive citizen data on domestic infrastructure rather than foreign-controlled systems.

The press release references a Bitcoin Policy Institute report claiming foreign-linked influence networks are working to shape American public opinion against data center and AI infrastructure development. Senator Tom Cotton is cited as having called for a federal investigation into whether foreign actors are attempting to influence U.S. data center policy.

The coalition's scope includes allied nations. The press release notes the United Kingdom designated data centers as Critical National Infrastructure in 2024 and has committed over £1 billion to sovereign AI initiatives.

"Data sovereignty is impossible without compute sovereignty," Kaiser said in the release.

Alpha Compute, domiciled in the British Virgin Islands with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Amsterdam, and Toronto, operates as a GPU infrastructure and confidential computing company serving finance, defense, intelligence, and media sectors. The coalition is seeking founding partners to support policy advocacy, public education, and research efforts.
