Mayfair Gold reports Q2 progress on Fenn-Gib gold project in Ontario
Mayfair Gold Corp. (NYSE American: MINE) released a quarterly update on its Fenn-Gib Gold Project in Northern Ontario, outlining engineering, permitting, drilling, and infrastructure activities completed during the second quarter of 2026.
The company said Ausenco is leading front-end engineering design for a planned 4,800 tonne-per-day process plant. Work during the quarter included optimization of the crushing and grinding circuit, ore hardness testing, and early engagement with process equipment suppliers.
Mayfair finalized results from a 56-hole, 4,200-metre grade control drilling program conducted in late 2025. The program covered approximately one million tonnes of probable mineral reserves from the 2026 Pre-Feasibility Study. For material above a 3.0 g/t gold cut-off grade, the grade control model identified 28% more tonnes at 7% higher grade compared to the reserve model, representing 37% more gold in the tested area.
A condemnation drilling program consisting of 23 drill holes totaling 6,031 metres was completed May 19, 2026. Assay results were received by the end of Q2, and the company said it is currently evaluating the data.
On the permitting front, Mayfair said it is advancing environmental baseline studies and preparing submissions under Ontario's One Project, One Process approval framework. The company also retained a registered Ontario land surveyor in June 2026 to support the conversion of 62 mining cell claims to mining leases.
Mayfair acquired the Guibord, Marriott, and Holloway exploration properties from Plato Gold Corp. on April 2, 2026. The properties are located near Fenn-Gib along the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone.
The company entered into a research services agreement with Atrium Research Corporation for C$47,000 and a digital advertising agreement with Gold Standard Media LLC for US$400,000, both disclosed as arm's-length arrangements.
Planned Q3 activities include completing process plant front-end engineering design, tendering detailed engineering, advancing permitting submissions, and continuing project financing discussions.
