July 23, 2026 3:31 AM

James Hardie Industries plc (NYSE: JHX) released preliminary financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2026, showing consolidated net sales and adjusted EBITDA expected to exceed the high end of guidance provided on May 19, 2026.

The company now expects consolidated net sales of $1.449 billion to $1.475 billion for the quarter, up from prior guidance of $1.315 billion to $1.354 billion. Consolidated adjusted EBITDA is expected in the range of $399 million to $407 million, compared with prior guidance of $354 million to $375 million. GAAP net income is expected between $102 million and $104 million.

The Siding & Trim segment is expected to generate net sales of $846 million to $860 million, versus prior guidance of $758 million to $781 million. Adjusted EBITDA for that segment is projected at $282 million to $288 million. The Deck, Rail & Accessories segment is expected to post net sales of $296 million to $305 million and adjusted EBITDA of $79 million to $83 million, while recording a GAAP operating loss of $3.1 million to $3.3 million.

CEO Aaron Erter said the results were "primarily as a result of better-than-expected sales in Siding & Trim," adding that performance in Deck, Rail & Accessories "was driven by channel inventory normalization and sell-through that improved throughout the quarter." Erter noted the company believes its performance "reflects our team's execution and growth above market, rather than a meaningful improvement in the overall U.S. housing market."

James Hardie said it will provide an update on full-year guidance during its fiscal first quarter earnings call, scheduled for August 6, 2026. The figures are preliminary estimates subject to completion of quarter-end closing procedures and have not been audited or reviewed by the company's independent registered public accounting firm.
