Investing.com - Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) was awarded a contract worth up to $1.2 billion by the U.S. Department of War for the production and delivery of three E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Block II aircraft for the Navy, the department announced today.

The cost, no fee undefinitized contract covers production, delivery and associated support for the aircraft. Work will be performed primarily in Melbourne, Florida, which accounts for 29.88% of the contract, along with St. Augustine, Florida, at 17.68%, and Liverpool, New York, at 13.85%. Additional work will take place across multiple U.S. locations and in Aire-sur-l'Adour, France, and Wimborne Minster, Dorset, United Kingdom.

The Navy will obligate $583.4 million in fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement funds at the time of award. Work under the contract is expected to be completed in December 2031. The contract was not competed in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1), and Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, serves as the contracting activity.

Separately, Northrop Grumman's McLean, Virginia, unit received a $27.9 million contract modification to provide engineering support, integrated product support, field service representative support, and training for software products. The Army awarded the modification, which definitizes an earlier undefinitized contract action.

The Army obligated $9.3 million in fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement funds for the modification. Work will be performed in McLean, Virginia, with completion expected by Jan. 21, 2029.
