CVB Financial names Michael Maddox to its board of directors

CVB Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: CVBF) has appointed Michael J. Maddox to its board of directors, as well as to the board of its subsidiary, Citizens Business Bank, National Association, according to a press release. The addition brings both boards from 10 to 11 members.



Maddox has more than 20 years of banking experience. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of CrossFirst Bankshares (NASDAQ: CFB) beginning June 2020, and as CEO and board member of CrossFirst Bank from November 2008 until both entities merged with First Busey Corporation (NASDAQ: BUSE) and Busey Bank in March 2025.



Following the merger, Maddox served as President and Vice Chairman of First Busey Corporation and as President and CEO of Busey Bank from March 2025 to January 2026. Prior to CrossFirst Bank, he was a Regional President at Intrust Bank, overseeing operations in Northeast Kansas.



Maddox holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Kansas and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003.



George A. Borba Jr., Chairman of the Boards for CVBF and the Bank, said Maddox "brings a highly relevant combination of public company CEO leadership, board governance expertise, capital markets experience and extensive knowledge of the banking sector."



CVB Financial Corp. is the holding company for Citizens Business Bank and operates more than 75 banking centers across California.
