AXT adds Jia-Bin Duh to its board of directors

AXT, Inc. (Nasdaq: AXTI), a compound semiconductor wafer substrate manufacturer, has appointed Jia-Bin Duh to its board of directors, effective July 16, 2026, expanding the board to six members from five.



Duh brings more than 30 years of executive experience in the technology sector, with a focus on Greater China markets. He previously served as President of Microsoft China from 1993 to 1998 and as President of Cisco Systems China from 1998 to 2005, as well as Corporate Vice President of Cisco Systems Inc. He currently serves as a director of Primax Electronics Ltd. (TPE: 4915), a role he has held since 2021, and served as that company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 2023 to 2024.



Duh has also held board positions at Wangfujing International Group Ltd. (SHA: 600859) from 2016 to 2019 and IDT International Limited (HK: 0167) from 2015 to 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Control Engineering from National Chiao Tung University and dual MBA degrees from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.



AXT Chief Executive Officer Morris Young said Duh's "deep understanding of the Chinese business environment, strong relationships across both the public and private sectors, and extensive public company board experience will be invaluable" as the company pursues its growth strategy.



AXT is headquartered in Fremont, California, and operates manufacturing facilities in China through its subsidiary Tongmei.
