Collins Aerospace, a unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), and Etihad Engineering announced a joint venture at the Farnborough International Airshow on July 21, 2026, to provide nacelle and thrust reverser maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The joint venture will serve Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 widebody fleets for regional and international carriers. As part of the agreement, Collins will relocate its existing UAE nacelle operations to Etihad Engineering's 550,000-square-meter aviation maintenance facility near Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, doubling Collins' current nacelle MRO footprint in the Middle East.

The new 3,250-square-meter facility is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2027. The joint venture will operate as part of Collins' aerostructures aftermarket network.

PJ Titone, vice president and general manager of Advanced Structures for Collins Aerospace, said the arrangement will allow Collins to "deliver enhanced service levels and technical expertise" and "supports the rising number of commercial aircraft equipped with Collins nacelles helping carriers across the region reduce costs and improve turnaround times."

Mahmood Al Hameli, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation, the parent group of Etihad Engineering, said the venture "aligns with our Group's long-term commitment to organic growth through capability enhancement and the development of local expertise."

Daniel Hoffmann, CEO of Etihad Engineering, said the joint venture adds "high-quality nacelle maintenance and thrust reverser MRO services" to the company's existing portfolio.

Etihad Engineering is a part of the Abu Dhabi Aviation group of companies. RTX reported 2025 sales of more than $88 billion and is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.
