BBAM Limited Partnership has agreed to purchase 30 CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B spare engines to support operators of Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, according to a press release from GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE).

The order includes both LEAP-1A engines, used on the Airbus A320neo family, and LEAP-1B engines, which power the Boeing 737 MAX. BBAM said the agreement represents its first direct engine order with CFM International, a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.

Steve Zissis, President and CEO of BBAM, said the multi-year order reflects the company's commitment to its customers. "This agreement marks a new chapter in our long-standing partnership with CFM," he said.

Gaël Méheust, President and CEO of CFM International, attributed the deal to the companies' ongoing relationship. "This order is a testament to the strength and longevity of our relationship with BBAM," he said.

BBAM already holds a portfolio of CFM56 and LEAP engines. The company is an aircraft leasing and management firm that provides engines to airline operators.

CFM International stated it has delivered more than 10,000 LEAP engines to date. The company said it is continuing to develop upgrades for the LEAP fleet, including a high-pressure turbine durability kit and a reverse bleed system intended to reduce airline maintenance requirements.
