Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL) has joined Project VERTI-GO, a European Union-funded initiative aimed at integrating electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft into European airspace, according to a press release from the company.

The project brings together aircraft manufacturers, regulators, air navigation service providers, and infrastructure partners. Honeywell Aerospace is also among the participants.

Project VERTI-GO is structured similarly to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, with the goal of developing an operational framework for commercial advanced air mobility in Europe.

Planned activities include simulations and flight demonstrations. Vertical Aerospace's eVTOL aircraft is set to be used in demonstrations between Malaga and Marbella in Spain.

Michael Cervenka, chief commercial and strategy officer of Vertical Aerospace, said in the release: "Project VERTI-GO is Europe's equivalent of the FAA's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program in the U.S., bringing together industry, regulators and air navigation providers to develop that operational framework."
