Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) has been selected by the City of Dayton, Ohio Department of Water to design what the company describes as the largest dedicated per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) water treatment facility in the United States, according to a press release.

The eight-year, single-award contract covers the design of a treatment facility with a projected construction cost of $350 million. The facility will address PFAS contamination in the Mad River Well Field, which supplies Dayton's Ottawa Water Treatment Plant. The plant, which is approximately 70 years old, produces 96 million gallons of drinking water per day and serves more than 430,000 people in the region.

Tetra Tech said the project will build on prior planning work and aim to address PFAS regulations and aging infrastructure while minimizing long-term operating costs.

"For more than 20 years, Tetra Tech has been providing high-end engineering services to support the City of Dayton's Department of Water in addressing complex water treatment issues," said Roger Argus, Tetra Tech Chief Executive Officer.
