Ribbon Communications wins network deal with Indonesia's JLM
Ribbon Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: RBBN) announced that Indonesian network provider PT Jala Lintas Media (JLM) has deployed Ribbon's Apollo platform for a greenfield DWDM network connecting Indonesia and Singapore, according to a press release dated July 21, 2026.
JLM is also using Ribbon's Data Center Interconnect (DCI) solution to provide connectivity for cloud and AI workloads between datacenters in the two countries. The deployment was implemented with support from PT Mahavira System Integra and represents the first phase of a broader network expansion.
The project uses Ribbon's Apollo 9608 modular optical networking platform, which the company says supports metro, core, and DCI applications with high-density performance and low power consumption.
Victor Irianto, Founder and President Commissioner of JLM, said in the statement: "Their solution was the most technically advanced we evaluated, while also delivering a smaller footprint, reduced power consumption, and the fastest delivery, implementation, testing, and integration process."
Mickey Wilf, Head of ASEAN Sales at Ribbon, noted that service providers face extended deployment lead times that can affect revenue and customer satisfaction, adding that Ribbon combines optical technology with rapid deployment capabilities.
