Accelsius two-phase cooling outperforms single-phase on Nvidia B200 server
Accelsius, a company founded by Innventure (NASDAQ: INV), released results from independent third-party benchmark testing showing its NeuCool two-phase direct-to-chip cooling system achieved 9°C lower GPU junction temperatures than single-phase cooling on an Nvidia B200 server under warm-water conditions.
The testing was conducted by a third-party systems integrator using a commercially available eight-way Nvidia B200 GPU server across approximately 40,000 operating points under simulated AI workloads. The evaluation compared the server's factory-installed single-phase direct-to-chip cooling system with Accelsius' NeuCool technology by varying GPU core, high-bandwidth memory, and CPU power levels.
According to the results, NeuCool matched single-phase performance at 45°C facility water using inlet water temperatures of 54°C. When facility water flow was raised from 1.5 liters per minute per kilowatt to 3.0 LPM/kW, the thermal advantage over single-phase widened from 9°C to 14°C, enabling facility water supply temperatures of 59°C.
Accelsius stated that single-phase cooling does not realize comparable performance gains from increased facility water flow rates.
The company published the findings in a white paper titled "Warm-Water Ready: Benchmarking Two-Phase vs. Single-Phase Direct-to-Chip Cooling on an Nvidia B200 Server."
