HII appoints Michael DeBernardis as chief counsel of Mission Technologies
HII (NYSE: HII) has named Michael DeBernardis vice president and chief counsel of its Mission Technologies division, according to a company statement.
In the role, DeBernardis will advise senior leadership and oversee legal services for the division, which covers defense, intelligence, cyber, unmanned systems, training, logistics, fleet sustainment, and nuclear services.
DeBernardis joins HII from Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, where he was managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office and chair of the firm's Global Investigations, Enforcement and Compliance practice. He brings nearly 20 years of experience advising corporations, government contractors, and multinational organizations on legal, compliance, investigations, and governance matters.
He has represented organizations before the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
DeBernardis holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Delaware.
