Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R) has launched the Ryder Vehicle Assurance Program, which includes a free 60-day limited warranty on all Ryder DOT Verified used commercial vehicles, available through the end of the year.

According to a company statement, this is the first time Ryder has offered a free 60-day limited warranty on used commercial vehicles. The warranty covers key powertrain and comfort components. Buyers may also extend coverage through additional warranty plans of 90 days, 12 months, 24 months, or 36 months at additional cost.

DOT Verified vehicles in the program undergo a 140-point inspection and come with a complete maintenance history report. Ryder states these vehicles are guaranteed to meet all DOT safety standards for legal road operation within 15 days of purchase.

"Buying a used vehicle should come with confidence, not uncertainty," said Eric Upchurch, vice president of vehicle sales at Ryder. "The Ryder Vehicle Assurance Program brings together everything that matters most, including single-vehicle ownership, rigorous and up-to-date preventive service, and complete maintenance records, all backed by our new warranty."

Ryder operates 55 used truck centers across the United States and carries inventory that includes tractors, trucks, vans, and trailers. The company also offers financing packages and preventive maintenance options alongside the new warranty program.

Ryder noted that several existing used vehicle promotions, including discounts for Women in Trucking members, ATA members, and military veterans, cannot be combined with other offers. Terms and conditions apply to the warranty program.
