Equifax posts 11% revenue growth, agrees to buy Mexican credit bureau

Equifax (NYSE: EFX) reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $1.700 billion, up 11% from the same period a year earlier, and signed a definitive agreement to acquire Círculo de Crédito, a credit bureau in Mexico, for an enterprise value of $750 million, according to a company press release.



Net income attributable to Equifax fell 4% to $183.9 million from $191.3 million in the second quarter of 2025. Diluted earnings per share rose 1% to $1.54 from $1.53. Adjusted EPS, a non-GAAP measure, rose 13% to $2.25. The quarter included a $40 million charge, net of expected insurance proceeds of $60 million from a gross accrual of $100 million, related to a legal settlement tied to a previously disclosed coding issue.



Revenue by segment for the quarter ended June 30, 2026: Workforce Solutions generated $705.4 million, up 7%; U.S. Information Solutions (USIS) generated $611.6 million, up 17%, driven by a 40% increase in mortgage revenue; and International generated $383.1 million, up 8% on a reported basis and 4% in local currency.



Equifax said it is doubling its AI-driven cost reduction target to $150 million for the period from 2026 to 2028, up from a prior target set earlier in 2026. The company returned $366 million to shareholders during the quarter, comprising $300 million in share repurchases of approximately 1.8 million shares and $66 million in quarterly dividends.



The planned acquisition of Círculo de Crédito is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. For the third quarter of 2026, Equifax guided revenue of $1.680 billion to $1.710 billion and adjusted EPS of $2.15 to $2.25. Full-year 2026 revenue guidance is $6.710 billion to $6.780 billion, with adjusted EPS of $8.39 to $8.69.
