BOC Aviation Limited has confirmed an order for up to 220 Pratt & Whitney GTF engines to power up to 110 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, according to a press release issued at the Farnborough International Airshow.

Pratt & Whitney is a business unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX). The order, described by BOC Aviation as the largest it has placed with Pratt & Whitney, was originally signed and recorded as an undisclosed deal in June 2025.

Steven Townend, chief executive officer and managing director at BOC Aviation, said the order reflects a 29-year relationship with Pratt & Whitney. "GTF engines enable a substantial reduction in fuel costs, contributing to the efficiency of our future fleet," he said.

Rick Deurloo, president of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, said the order reflects BOC Aviation's confidence in the GTF engine and cited growing airline demand.

Pratt & Whitney states the GTF engine delivers 20% lower fuel consumption and a 75% smaller noise footprint compared to the prior generation of engines. The company reports more than 2,800 GTF-powered aircraft are operated by over 90 customers globally, with a backlog of more than 8,000 GTF engines.

BOC Aviation is an aircraft operating leasing company with a portfolio of 813 aircraft and engines owned, managed, and on order. Its owned and managed fleet was leased to 88 airlines in 48 countries and regions as of March 31, 2026. The company is headquartered in Singapore.
