GitLab names Thomas Lloyd as chief business and legal officer
GitLab Inc. has appointed Thomas Lloyd as Chief Business and Legal Officer, the company announced. Lloyd will oversee product and cloud partnerships, corporate development and strategy, legal functions, and corporate affairs, and will serve as counsel to GitLab's board of directors.
Lloyd joins GitLab from New Relic, Inc., where he held the roles of Chief Business and Operations Officer and Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. In those positions, he managed company strategy, partnerships, corporate development, security, legal, privacy, information technology, and compliance. Before New Relic, Lloyd worked at the law firm Latham & Watkins, advising technology companies.
Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley.
GitLab, which trades on Nasdaq (NASDAQ: GTLB), said the appointment comes as the company expands its partner ecosystem and platform capabilities. According to the company, more than 50 million registered users and approximately 50% of the Fortune 100 use its platform.
