Datavault AI to tokenize edge AI network, targeting $1B in tokens

July 17, 2026 6:00 AM

Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) announced plans to tokenize Available Infrastructure's Project Qestrel, a nationwide fleet of edge data centers deploying across the United States, according to a press release from the company.

The company said it will use its tokenization technology and Information Data Exchange platform to create $QEST utility tokens representing access and usage rights across the Project Qestrel network. The total tokenized value of the program is expected to exceed $1 billion upon full deployment, with an initial token offering targeted for the third quarter of 2026 and secondary market trading expected to follow.

Project Qestrel, announced by Available Infrastructure in March 2026, targets deployment of 1,000 edge data centers across 100 U.S. cities and more than 30 states, with a stated project capital expenditure of nearly $5 billion at full buildout. Each site is said to feature up to 48 GPUs and zero-trust, quantum-resilient encryption. The initial phase is targeted to be live by the end of 2026, with the first sites already operational and 30 cities targeted through a partnership with Crown Castle.

Datavault AI said it will split revenue equally with Available Infrastructure and will provide tokenization technology and clearing through its Data Vault platform. The company is also described as the first customer to use Available's distributed fleet, with deployments already active in the New York and Philadelphia corridors.

"With demand for edge AI capability soaring and outpacing the overall market's current edge capacity, the $QEST token provides a crucial way for enterprises to reserve and access capacity on the Qestrel network," said Dan Gregory, CEO of Available Infrastructure.

Both companies claim the program represents the first large-scale tokenization of a live-deploying, nationwide edge AI infrastructure project, though that claim has not been independently verified.

Both Datavault AI and Available Infrastructure describe themselves as IBM Platinum Partners. Many Project Qestrel sites are said to be pre-integrated with IBM watsonx.
