Upwork Inc. (NASDAQ: UPWK) announced that Chief Financial Officer Erica Gessert will take a temporary medical leave effective July 14, 2026, according to a company statement.

The company expects Gessert to return to her role during the fourth quarter of 2026. During her absence, President and Chief Executive Officer Hayden Brown will assume the role of interim principal financial officer.

Brown will not receive additional compensation for taking on the interim role, and no changes have been made to existing plans or arrangements in which she participates as a result of the appointment.
