CareDx, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDNA) announced that Medicare has finalized a Local Coverage Determination (LCD) affirming coverage of its molecular surveillance tests for kidney, heart, and lung transplant patients.

The Final LCD was published on July 16, 2026, and is expected to take effect on August 30, 2026. A draft LCD had been released on July 17, 2025, and was open for public comment through August 31, 2025.

Under the finalized policy, CareDx's AlloSure Kidney test is covered for up to six surveillance tests in the first year post-transplant and up to four tests per year in years two and three. The company noted that kidney transplant patients currently receive an average of approximately three to four tests in the first year.

For heart transplant patients, coverage is maintained for both AlloMap and AlloSure Heart, including combined use when medically appropriate, with up to 12 tests covered in the first year and four tests per year in years two and three.

AlloSure Lung coverage follows the same structure, with up to 12 tests in the first year and four per year in years two and three. For-cause testing coverage remains unchanged across all three organ categories.
