Jabil Inc. (NYSE: JBL) has opened a new logistics facility in Penang, Malaysia, spanning approximately 417,000 square feet at the Valdor Industrial Park in Sungai Jawi.

The Intelligent Logistics Hub incorporates automated storage and retrieval systems, a fleet of approximately 160 autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms, and a digital twin platform powered by artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies. The facility can accommodate roughly 52,300 pallet positions and is designed to handle high-value materials including semiconductors and advanced electronic components.

The hub supports functions including kitting, inventory management, sequencing, packing, cross-docking, traceability, and just-in-time delivery to production lines. It was built to FM Global standards and features climate-controlled environments.

The facility was delivered by PTT Synergy Group Berhad (Bursa: PTT) through its wholly owned subsidiary PROTT Sdn. Bhd., which served as the intralogistics solutions provider.

"Supply chain volatility, rising logistics and operating costs, and the need for greater visibility into inventory are a few challenges faced in today's advanced manufacturing and electronics supply chains," said HH Yeo, Jabil's Senior Vice President of Operations.

A rooftop solar photovoltaic system is scheduled for installation in September 2026, with the facility targeting GreenRE Bronze certification.

Jabil first opened a facility in Penang in 1995. The company now operates eight facilities across Malaysia, employing more than 14,000 people serving industries including automotive, cloud and data center infrastructure, defense and aerospace, healthcare, and semiconductor capital equipment.
