Vishay wins CMMC Level 2 certification for U.S. defense work

July 15, 2026 11:00 AM

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced it has obtained Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, a designation established by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to verify that contractors adequately protect sensitive defense information.

The certification confirms that Vishay's cybersecurity practices meet requirements for handling Federal Contract Information and Controlled Unclassified Information within DoD programs. According to the company's press release, the certification allows Vishay to support programs requiring the exchange of such information, participate in contracts with CMMC requirements, and maintain compliant information workflows.

CMMC Level 2 validates controls including controlled access environments, encrypted communications, secure file transfer processes, ongoing monitoring, and employee training.

Michael O'Sullivan, executive vice president and chief administrative and legal officer at Vishay, said the certification was achieved "well ahead of full enforcement requirements," positioning the company to support defense and aerospace customers and reduce program risk.

Vishay supplies electronic components for defense, aerospace, and national security applications, among other markets. The Malvern, Pennsylvania-based company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
