MicroVision names James Byun as its first chief commercial officer
MicroVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) announced the appointment of James Byun as Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created position, according to a company press release dated July 15, 2026.
Byun will oversee MicroVision's global commercial operations, including business development, strategic partnerships, sales, customer engagement, and market expansion across the company's lidar product portfolio.
Byun brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial leadership roles across the automotive and technology sectors. He most recently served as Managing Director of Global Business Development at Aeva. Before that, he held the title of Chief Commercial Officer at Innovusion, later rebranded as Seyond, where he built the company's global commercial organization and expanded relationships with automotive OEMs.
Earlier roles include seven years at Gracenote as Executive Vice President and President of the Global Automotive Group, and senior leadership positions at SiriusXM focused on relationships with global automotive manufacturers. He began his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brown University.

MicroVision, based in Redmond, Washington, develops lidar-based perception solutions for automotive, industrial, and security and defense markets, with engineering centers in the U.S. and Germany.
