Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR) announced a cloud-augmented protection architecture for its DefensePro X platform on July 15, 2026, with Cloud Web DDoS Protection as its first released service under the new model.

The architecture is designed to use AI-powered cloud algorithms for attack detection while keeping traffic inspection, mitigation, and TLS private keys on customer premises. Radware says this approach is intended to address privacy, compliance, and data sovereignty concerns that have traditionally made cloud-based DDoS protection difficult for certain organizations to adopt.

The service is backed by Radware's network of more than 65 cloud centers globally. It targets Layer 7, or application-layer, DDoS attacks, which the company says increasingly use encrypted traffic and techniques designed to mimic legitimate user behavior.

"As application-layer attacks become more sophisticated, security teams need broader visibility without sacrificing operational control," said Gabi Malka, chief operating officer at Radware. "By extending DefensePro X with cloud-augmented protection, Radware gives customers access to cloud-powered intelligence while helping to preserve the speed, privacy, and control of inline enforcement."

According to the company, the new offering is designed to integrate with existing DefensePro X deployments without requiring organizations to reroute traffic through the cloud or restructure their security architecture. Radware said the cloud-augmented model is also intended to support additional DefensePro X capabilities in the future.

The company identifies the primary target customers as enterprises with strict regulatory requirements, organizations using content delivery networks or proxy architectures, and security teams managing encrypted web DDoS threats.
