July 14, 2026 8:34 AM

SeaStar Medical Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: ICU) announced it is sponsoring the KidneyBee Summit 2026, held at Children's Hospital Colorado from July 14 to 16, 2026. The interdisciplinary conference brings together nurses, advanced practice providers, and physicians focused on pediatric acute kidney injury (AKI).

The company is also sponsoring an educational webinar titled Rethinking Pediatric Sepsis-Associated AKI: What Clinicians Should Know About QUELIMMUNE, scheduled for August 11, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. ET. Speakers include Dr. Stuart Goldstein of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Stephen Gorga and Katie Plomaritas of C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan, Theresa Mottes of Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, and Dr. Kevin Chung, SeaStar Medical's chief medical officer.

The webinar will cover SeaStar Medical's QUELIMMUNE® (SCD-PED) therapy, which received FDA approval in February 2024 under a Humanitarian Device Exemption for critically ill pediatric patients with AKI due to sepsis or a septic condition requiring renal replacement therapy.

Clinical trial data published in Kidney Medicine showed a 77% survival rate among patients treated with QUELIMMUNE compared to standard of care, representing an approximately 50% reduction in mortality compared to historical data. Among survivors, no dialysis was required, and 87.5% had normal kidney function at Day 60 after ICU discharge.

Preliminary data from the first 21 patients in the QUELIMMUNE SAVE Registry, published in Pediatric Nephrology, showed a 76% survival rate at Day 28 and Day 60, and a 71% survival rate at Day 90, with no device-related adverse events or infections reported.

"More than 50% of these children lose their life to this complication of their acute illness," said Dr. Chung in a statement based on the press release.
