U.S. private hiring slows for third straight week, ADP data shows
U.S. private employers added an average of 19,750 jobs per week in the four weeks ending June 27, 2026, according to a preliminary estimate from the ADP National Employment Report (NER) Pulse, published July 14, 2026.
The figure marks a third consecutive week of slowing hiring. The four-week moving average, which is seasonally adjusted, has declined steadily from 30,750 jobs for the week ending June 6 to the current reading. ADP noted the estimates are preliminary and subject to revision as additional data becomes available.
The weekly figures, based on a four-week moving average with a two-week lag, are as follows:
