Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: MODD) released findings from a research initiative showing that 97% of surveyed insulin injection users expressed interest in insulin pump therapy, according to a company press release.

The survey assessed 100 individuals using multiple daily injections. Among participants, 43% reported being hospitalized due to diabetes-related complications, with nearly half of that group experiencing such events two or more times per year. Additionally, 55% reported finding themselves in inconvenient or non-private situations for administering injections at least twice per week.

The San Diego-based company said the findings support its commercialization of the Pivot tubeless insulin patch pump, a wearable device designed to deliver both basal and bolus insulin over a three-day wear period. The company describes its primary target market as an estimated 4.5 million people in the United States living with Type 1 or insulin-requiring Type 2 diabetes who use both basal and mealtime injections.

Modular Medical has engaged Thrivable, a patient insights company, to conduct expanded research involving in-depth interviews with 20 diabetes patients and a survey of 300 additional insulin-using patients. Thrivable will draw from its panel of more than 130,000 verified patients for the initiative.

The company plans to showcase the Pivot pump at the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists annual conference in Columbus, Ohio, scheduled for August 7–10, 2026.
