JPMorgan analysts name top short ideas for third quarter 2026
Investing.com -- JPMorgan released its list of top short ideas for the third quarter of 2026, featuring selections from its highest-ranked U.S. equity research analysts across multiple sectors.
The list includes 24 companies spanning capital goods, consumer, energy, financials, healthcare, materials, media and telecom, and technology sectors. Each selection represents what the bank's analysts view as their most compelling structural and tactical short positions.
In the technology sector, Intel Corp (NASDAQ: INTC) received an underweight rating from analyst Harlan Sur, while Wix.com Ltd (NASDAQ: WIX) was rated underweight by Alexei Gogolev.
The healthcare sector features four companies on the list, including Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: MRNA), rated underweight by Jessica Fye, and Biomea Fusion Inc (NASDAQ: BMEA), rated underweight by Anupam Rama.
Energy sector picks include five companies, with CVR Energy Inc (NYSE: CVI), Imperial Oil Ltd, and Transocean Ltd (NYSE: RIG) all receiving underweight ratings from Arun Jayaram.
In the consumer sector, Avis Budget Group Inc (NASDAQ: CAR) was rated underweight by Rajat Gupta, while Brown-Forman Corp (NYSE:BF.B) received an underweight rating from Drew Levine.
The financials sector includes four companies, with UDR Inc (NYSE: UDR) rated underweight by Anthony Paolone and Federated Hermes Inc (NYSE: FHI) rated underweight by Michael Cho.
The media and telecom sector features Pinterest Inc (NYSE: PINS) with a neutral rating from Doug Anmuth, while TELUS Corp received an underweight rating from Sebastiano Petti.
