July 10, 2026 8:36 AM

Investing.com -- King Yuan Electronics, a Taiwanese chip-testing company that supplies Nvidia, announced Friday it plans to invest up to $1.4 billion to build a facility in the United States.

The company said the investment aims to support operational growth and strengthen its position in the global supply chain.

King Yuan Electronics did not disclose which customers the planned US facility would serve. The company also did not reveal the location of the facility or provide a construction timeline.

The move follows a trend of Taiwanese semiconductor and electronics companies expanding their manufacturing presence in the United States. This expansion began after Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company made a multibillion-dollar investment in Arizona.

Foxconn and Wistron are currently building AI server manufacturing capacity in Texas for Nvidia.
