Clearmind Medicine submits response to HHS addiction treatment RFI

July 10, 2026 8:32 AM

Clearmind Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ: CMND), a clinical-stage biotech company, submitted a formal response to a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Request for Information (RFI) on addiction treatment innovations, according to a press release from the Vancouver-based company.

The RFI is part of the U.S. administration's Great American Recovery Initiative, which seeks input from researchers, companies, healthcare providers, and the public on programs and policies aimed at improving prevention, treatment, and recovery from addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.

In its submission, Clearmind highlighted its proprietary candidate CMND-100, a compound based on a molecule called MEAI, which the company classifies as a non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogen being developed for alcohol use disorder (AUD) and binge behaviors. The company states that AUD affects approximately 10% of the U.S. population, with only about 1 in 10 affected Americans receiving treatment.

Clearmind described its proposed approach as a scalable, at-home treatment model with what it characterizes as low abuse potential, targeting neural pathways including 5-HT1A receptors to support moderation and long-term recovery.

"We believe that CMND-100 represents a promising new approach that could help millions struggling with alcohol use disorder and binge behaviors," said Dr. Adi Zuloff-Shani, Chief Executive Officer of Clearmind Medicine. "We are proud to contribute our clinical insights and data to this important national effort."

The company referenced research conducted at Yale and Johns Hopkins in support of MEAI's profile, though it did not disclose specific clinical trial results in the announcement.

The HHS RFI was issued following executive orders from President Trump on addiction and recovery. Clearmind holds a portfolio of 19 patent families, including 32 granted patents. Shares of the company trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker CMND.
