agilon health ACOs report $229M in gross savings for 2024
Agilon Health (NYSE: AGL) reported that its Accountable Care Organizations achieved $229 million in gross savings during the 2024 performance year of the ACO Realizing Equity, Access and Community Health (ACO REACH) model, representing a 13.6% gross savings rate. Of that total, $54 million went to the Medicare Trust Fund.
The company's eight REACH ACOs operate under full risk and were responsible for the total cost and quality of care for approximately 121,000 Traditional Medicare beneficiaries in 2024. The ACOs included 1,500 primary care physicians operating across 13 communities in Hawaii, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
The average quality score across the eight ACOs was 96% for the 2024 performance year. Four of the eight ACOs attained a 100% quality score, and five achieved High Performers Pool status across all four quality measures.
Since joining the ACO REACH model in 2021, agilon's REACH ACOs have accumulated $510 million in gross savings, including $125 million in total savings to the Medicare Trust Fund. The company also reported that five of its ACOs ranked among the top 20 Standard ACOs by gross savings rate.
