Biohaven names new discovery head as CSO shifts to part-time role
Biohaven Ltd. (NYSE: BHVN) announced leadership changes in its scientific organization, effective July 13, 2026, according to a company statement.
David Pirman, Ph.D., has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Head of Discovery, where he will lead the company's internal drug-discovery organization and oversee research programs.
Bruce Car, the company's current Chief Scientific Officer, is retiring from that role and will transition to a newly created part-time position of Chief Innovation Officer. In that capacity, Dr. Car will focus on scientific initiatives and external collaborations, including work related to the company's partnership with Bexorg, Inc. Dr. Car will continue to serve as an executive officer of the company.
Warren Volles, General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer, has been designated an executive officer of Biohaven and will continue to lead the company's legal function.
Vlad Coric, M.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Biohaven, said the transitions are "designed to accelerate drug innovation and external collaborations" and will help the company "pursue new CNS therapies grounded in human biology and translational innovation."
