FreeCast launches localized streaming platform for all 210 U.S. markets

FreeCast, Inc. (Nasdaq: CAST) announced a new direct-to-consumer streaming platform called FreeCast Cities, designed to deliver localized streaming experiences across each of the 210 U.S. Designated Market Areas (DMAs).

The platform, currently in beta testing, combines local television, free streaming channels, premium television services, on-demand content, and subscription management into a single interface accessible across televisions, mobile devices, computers, and connected streaming platforms.

Each market is intended to feature locally branded content, including participating local broadcast stations, free ad-supported channels and movies, optional premium services, and integrated subscription management. The platform incorporates FreeCast's SmartGuide universal discovery engine and MediaPay subscription billing tool.

FreeCast also expects the platform to include DirecTV residential offers, allowing eligible consumers to access live television programming without a satellite dish or dedicated hardware, subject to service availability.

Rather than a single national launch, the company plans a phased rollout, introducing one to three markets at a time as commercial agreements, broadcaster participation, and operational milestones are met.

"FreeCast Cities was developed to simplify that experience by bringing local television together with streaming services, premium entertainment, and subscription management into one unified platform," said William Mobley, Chief Executive Officer of FreeCast.

The platform is built on the same enterprise infrastructure FreeCast offers to telecommunications providers, broadband operators, municipalities, and other commercial organizations, according to a company press release.
