Apple TV+ receives record 89 Emmy nominations across 15 shows

Apple TV+ received a record 89 nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, leading all networks in nominations for both the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series categories, according to a statement from the company.

The Television Academy announced the nominations, with winners to be revealed at a ceremony on September 14.

The comedy Widow's Bay received the most nominations of any Apple TV+ title with 19, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Matthew Rhys. The drama Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan and starring Rhea Seehorn, received 18 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Other comedy nominees include Shrinking with 10 nominations — including acting nods for Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Michael Urie, Jessica Williams, Brett Goldstein, and Michael J. Fox — and Margo's Got Money Troubles with eight nominations in its Emmy debut, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting nominations for Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Nick Offerman.

On the drama side, Slow Horses received nine nominations including its third consecutive Outstanding Drama Series nod, while Your Friends & Neighbors received its first Outstanding Drama Series nomination.

The documentary series Mr. Scorsese received three nominations including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, and The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy received two nominations including Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special.

Additional nominated titles include Palm Royale with eight nominations, Murderbot with three, and single nominations each for The Morning Show, Foundation, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and Smoke.
