Northwest Biotherapeutics (OTCQB: NWBO) presented updated survival data from its Phase III trial of DCVax-L for glioblastoma at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the British Neuro-Oncology Society, according to a company statement.

The new analyses, conducted by independent statisticians using individual patient-level data (IPD), suggest the survival benefit previously reported from the trial was likely underestimated. The original analysis, which relied on cohort-level data, found a median survival advantage of 2.8 months for DCVax-L patients.

Using two statistical methods — propensity score matching (PSM) and inverse probability weighting (IPW) — the independent statisticians compared DCVax-L patients against controls drawn from several randomized controlled trials in newly diagnosed glioblastoma. PSM analyses of two large trials found a median survival advantage of 4.9 to 6.3 months, while a third trial showed 3.4 to 3.7 months. Hazard ratios ranged from 0.69 to 0.77, with p values between 0.004 and 0.027. IPW analyses found a median survival advantage of 3.4 to 4.3 months.

Sensitivity analyses using E Values and Rosenbaum's Gamma measures were conducted to assess potential unknown confounding factors. Those analyses indicated the observed treatment effect was not attributable to hidden imbalances between patient groups.

"The statisticians' findings indicate that the median survival benefit reported from the original analysis of the DCVax-L Phase III trial, based on cohort-level data, was likely substantially underestimated," said Dr. Marnix Bosch, the company's Chief Technical Officer, who presented the data.

Northwest Biotherapeutics has submitted a Marketing Authorization Application for DCVax-L in the United Kingdom, which is currently under regulatory review.
