Quest Diagnostics integrates cancer tests into Flatiron's OncoEMR platform

July 8, 2026 9:03 AM

Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) said it is integrating its Haystack MRD ctDNA test and Comprehensive Genomic Profiling services for solid tumor cancers into OncoEMR, an electronic health record system from Flatiron Health, through a pilot program with American Oncology Network (AON) and other community oncology providers.

Quest describes itself as the largest clinical reference lab to integrate oncology tests into OncoEMR using the platform's Molecular Profiling Integration (MPI) ordering feature. Once the full integration is complete, it is intended to give 4,700 clinicians across Flatiron's network of 1,600 community-based cancer care locations in the United States access to Quest's services.

AON, which has more than 350 providers practicing across 21 states, is among the pilot participants. Nearly 200 AON sites currently have access to OncoEMR MPI and can use it to order Quest tests. Quest said it plans to expand the full OncoEMR MPI integration to providers nationwide in the second half of 2026.

The integration allows providers to order tests with fewer steps and receive results within their existing EHR workflows. Tests available through the pilot include Haystack MRD, a circulating-tumor DNA minimal residual disease test, and Quest's Comprehensive Genomic Profiling panels, which can identify up to 530 genes associated with therapy response.

"By integrating Quest's advanced oncology services directly into existing workflows, we're making it easier for physicians to access critical testing insights without adding complexity to their day," said Quincy Weatherspoon, Chief Network Officer, US Point of Care at Flatiron Health.

Asia Chang, Vice President and General Manager of Oncology at Quest Diagnostics, said the integration is intended to provide oncologists "a single-source ordering and results solution via OncoEMR MPI." Quest previously began offering its Haystack MRD test through the Epic Aura platform in the summer of 2025, according to the company's press release.
