Evolus strikes licensing deal with IBSA to bring Profhilo to US

July 8, 2026 9:02 AM

Evolus, Inc. (NASDAQ: EOLS) has entered into an exclusive licensing and distribution agreement with Swiss pharmaceutical company IBSA to develop and commercialize Profhilo®, an injectable skin quality product, in the United States.

Profhilo® is available in more than 70 countries and has recorded more than 4.8 million treatments administered worldwide since its 2015 launch. The product uses a hyaluronic acid formulation intended for superficial application to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and smoothness, distinguishing it from traditional hyaluronic acid injectables designed to restore volume or facial structure.

Under the agreement, Evolus will be responsible for development activities required for U.S. regulatory approval and subsequent commercialization. The deal includes no upfront payments and is structured through a transfer-price model designed to support gross margins consistent with the company's long-term financial framework. Evolus stated the agreement is not expected to affect its previously communicated 2026 revenue, operating expense, or operating profit outlook, or its 2028 revenue or profitability targets.

"Profhilo® represents an exciting new chapter for Evolus as we expand into skin quality," said David Moatazedi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Evolus. "We believe skin quality represents the next frontier in injectable aesthetics in the United States."

Salvatore Cincotti, General Manager of IBSA, said the partnership creates "a strong opportunity to expand access to Profhilo® and establish the skin quality category with practitioners and patients in the world's largest aesthetics market."

Evolus currently markets Jeuveau®, a neurotoxin, and Evolysse®, a line of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, in the U.S. The company said the addition of Profhilo® extends its presence into the injectable skin quality segment, which it described as being in early stages in the U.S. compared to European markets.
