Aya Gold & Silver posts record Q2 silver output of 1.49M oz

Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (NASDAQ: AYA) reported record quarterly silver production of 1.49 million ounces at its Zgounder Silver Mine in Morocco for the three months ended June 30, 2026, a 43% increase year-over-year and 18% quarter-over-quarter, according to a company press release.

Consolidated production, including output from the Boumadine pyrite reclaim operation, reached 1.68 million silver equivalent ounces, up 61% year-over-year and 12% quarter-over-quarter. The Boumadine operation contributed approximately 0.19 million silver equivalent ounces during the period.

The Zgounder mill processed 353,888 tonnes at an average rate of 3,889 tonnes per day, a 7% increase over Q1-2026 and 29% higher year-over-year, at an average feed grade of 141 grams per tonne silver. Silver recovery averaged 91.2% for the quarter, up from 89.4% in Q1-2026 and 86.5% in Q2-2025. Mill availability was 97%.

The combined open-pit and underground mining rate averaged a record 4,880 tonnes per day at 137 grams per tonne silver. The open pit contributed 3,437 tonnes per day, while underground operations added 1,444 tonnes per day. The company noted that a temporary crushing contractor, mobilized in late Q1-2026, remained on site pending completion of a planned crusher expansion.

The second phase of the tailings storage facility is expected to be completed in early Q3-2026, after which open-pit strip ratios are expected to gradually increase toward the annual mine plan ratio of 16. The ore stockpile grew 33% quarter-over-quarter to 373,884 tonnes.

At Boumadine, the pyrite reclaim operation processed 17,153 tonnes at average grades of 179 grams per tonne silver and 2.43 grams per tonne gold, producing 100,721 ounces of silver and 1,414 ounces of gold. The company said bulk shipments are expected to commence in the second half of 2026. The reclaim operation, launched in late 2025, is expected to last approximately 20 to 24 months.

Year-to-date consolidated silver equivalent production reached 3.17 million ounces, up 50% from the same period in 2025.
