Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has signed a contract worth approximately €200 million with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) to modernize the alliance's digital infrastructure over seven years.

The contract, part of NATO's Protected Business Network (PBN) program, was signed at the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum in Ankara, Turkey. Accenture will work alongside Leonardo (Milan Stock Exchange: LDO) to design, implement, and operate the PBN platform across a multi-cloud environment.

The program is intended to replace legacy systems and support approximately 29,000 users across the alliance with a standardized, cloud-based environment for classified digital operations. Leonardo will implement a Zero Trust Architecture secured by its Global Cybersec Platform as part of the security framework.

NCIA General Manager Dr. Dylan Browne said the contract represents "a key step to modernize its digital infrastructure and enable a more connected, data-driven enterprise, ensuring we deliver digital capabilities at speed and scale."

The PBN program was approved by the North Atlantic Council as a NATO-wide capability program. According to the press release, the contract marks the first implementation phase of the program.
