Voya Financial adds private market options to advisor accounts
Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA) has expanded its Advisor Managed Accounts (AMA) program to include private market investments, allowing registered investment advisors to allocate to private equity, private credit and private real estate within managed portfolios for retirement plan participants.
The AMA program, launched in 2021, enables RIAs to deliver personalized, professionally managed portfolios to retirement plan participants. The expansion builds on the 2024 launch of Voya's Primary Plus, which introduced non-core investment solutions to the platform.
Initially, RIAs will have access to Voya Investment Management's V-ALT collective investment trusts, as well as Blue Owl's Alternative Credit CIT and Real Estate Net Lease CIT. Voya said it will continue to evaluate and add managers through its existing governance process.
"This solution gives plan sponsors a way to offer employees access to private markets through a program combining education, professional management, ongoing account oversight and our focus on designing solutions that support long-term outcomes," said Amy Vaillancourt, president of Retirement at Voya.
The company stated it has a decade of experience integrating private assets into custom asset allocation portfolios and described the AMA expansion as an extension of those capabilities. According to a press release, private market investments have historically been available to a narrower group of investors.
The AMA program is offered in partnership with Morningstar Investment Management LLC, a registered investment adviser and subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc., which is not affiliated with Voya.
