Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) has been selected by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for a five-year, $15 million multiple-award contract to provide engineering and technical services for the Owens Lake Dust Mitigation Program, according to a press release from the company.

Owens Lake is a dry lakebed spanning 48.6 square miles that requires EPA-approved dust control measures. Under the contract, Tetra Tech will provide services including geotechnical investigations, GIS mapping, hydraulic modeling, civil and structural engineering design, and SCADA instrumentation and electrical engineering design.

Tetra Tech CEO Roger Argus said the company has supported LADWP on the program for more than 15 years and that dust emissions have been reduced by 99.4% during that period.

The Pasadena, California-based company describes the Owens Lake program as the largest dust mitigation and control program in the United States.
