Jupiter Neurosciences adds health economist to its board of directors
Jupiter Neurosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: JUNS) announced the appointment of Tomas J. Philipson, Ph.D., to its board of directors, effective June 26, 2026. Philipson will serve on both the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee.
Philipson served as Acting Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers from June 2019 to June 2020 and as a member of the Council from 2017 to 2020. He also held senior economic advisory roles at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2003–2004.
In academia, Philipson holds the Daniel Levin Chair of Public Policy Emeritus at the University of Chicago, with appointments in the Department of Economics, the Law School, and the Harris School of Public Policy.
Philipson co-founded Precision Health Economics LLC in 2007, serving as Managing Partner until its acquisition in 2015. He has operated TJP Economic Consulting Inc. since June 2020 and serves as Managing Partner of MEDA Ventures since 2023.
As compensation, Philipson will receive an option to purchase 90,000 shares of common stock, vesting in equal quarterly installments over 36 months. In lieu of cash compensation valued at approximately $125,000 over three years, he will also receive an option to purchase 446,428 shares of common stock, also vesting quarterly over 36 months. Both grants are at fair market value on the date of grant and subject to continued service.
