The United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden signed a joint government-to-government agreement during the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Türkiye, to explore establishing a dedicated PAC-3 missile maintenance facility in Europe.

The agreement was signed at the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum on July 7, 2026. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) said the proposed facility would provide in-region maintenance and sustainment capabilities for NATO allies operating PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) and PAC-3 Cost Reduction Initiative (CRI) interceptors.

Jay Pitman, president of Lockheed Martin International, said in a statement: "Industrial cooperation strengthens the transatlantic defense industrial base and contributes to economic progress and shared security."

Lockheed Martin said it would contribute experience in missile production, sustainment, engineering and supply-chain management to support the development of the proposed facility.

In April, the U.S. government awarded Lockheed Martin a $4.7 billion contract to accelerate PAC-3 MSE production. The company also said a framework agreement was established earlier this year with the U.S. Department of Defense to triple production capacity for PAC-3 MSE.
