Wrap Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WRAP) announced the launch of WrapShield, an autonomous defense and public safety platform, along with a strategic investment in Frenel Imaging Ltd., an Israeli advanced-sensing company.

As part of the agreement, Wrap Technologies secured exclusive U.S. and NATO commercialization rights to Frenel's TPiCore® thermal-polarimetric imaging technology. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

WrapShield is designed to connect detection, decision-making, and response capabilities across security environments. The platform is structured around three functions: sensing, AI-assisted threat orchestration, and response integration. The initial application targets counter-unmanned aircraft systems, with plans to expand across defense, public safety, critical infrastructure, and border security.

Frenel's TPiCore® technology captures polarization of thermal radiation at the pixel level, which the company says allows for material composition identification without requiring a radio frequency signal. Frenel states the technology is already in operational use in Israel and is deployable across drone, ground, fixed-site, naval, and handheld configurations.

Wrap Technologies said Frenel is expected to be the first of multiple planned investments into the WrapShield platform. The company's existing product portfolio includes the BolaWrap 150 non-lethal restraint device, the WrapReality training platform, and the WrapVision body-worn camera system.
